Vision

   One of the unique attributes of Mirus Academy is its great missional vision.  Education is one of the primary means for shaping lives for the glory of God.                                                          The community of Mount Desert Island and

                                                         the surrounding area is in desperate need of                                                          an education that will challenge students to                                                            think harder, love harder, and most                                                                          importantly, selflessly live.  Mirus Academy is                                                          not seeking to shelter students from the                                                                  world, but rather it is seeking to awaken                                                                  hearts and minds to the wonder of the world                                                          around them, to see God and his wonders                                                              everywhere.  

     At Mirus, we are continually finding ways to offer our services to the community.  Currently, teachers at the school will offer tutoring services to students not attending Mirus Academy.  This comes in the form of both classical classes (ex. Grammar, Logic, etc.) and private tutoring sessions.  This service comes from our heart to see students learn how to "human" well, that is, to live with their minds awake.   We marvel at the great potential this provides for the community.
